DAVOSA North Pole Limited Edition

The DAVOSA North Pole has a 42-millimeter satin-finished stainless steel case that can be described as rather classic and simple. The striking look of the watch is created primarily by the scratch-resistant and domed sapphire crystal, and the large and easy-grip crown. In particular, the hands and the large hour markers create a modern and minimalist look. The automatic drive of the watch is provided by the DAV3021, which is based on the proven Swiss quality movement SW 200-1. It is protected against water penetration up to a depth of 200 meters due to the screwed steel back and the double-sealed crown.

This minimalist timepiece is limited to only 500 pieces and this is the last available unit in the USA.

The story

From the second half of the 19th century onwards, adventurers tried to conquer the most remote place on earth - the North Pole. Traveling by foot, dog sled, water, or air, the explorers searched for the right route to this rugged place. The DAVOSA North Pole reliably accompanies you, whether on an expedition in adverse conditions or in everyday life.

The Big Bear (Big Dipper) constellation is captured on the backside graphic on the eve of 24.12.2020. Indeed one of the most distinctive features the DAVOSA North Pole can offer.

In a single painting, we symbolically combine a look into the past times of the first polar explorers and the present. This peculiar rotation is visible from one exact spot - approximately 30° North of the horizon from the Spitsbergen - more commonly known as the Bear Islands. This place is the northernmost populated corner of our planet, far beyond the Arctic Circle and barely 1000 km from the North Pole.

The graphic was drawn by talented Slovak artist Barbora Paulovic whose illustrations tell stories in many books. After graduation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, she left Europe for a couple of years and studied traditional art in Asia. Today her paintings are displayed in well-known galleries as she learned to see the world in a self-confident linear drawing stylization.

STRIKING LOOK

NORTH POLE SUPERIORITY

The DAVOSA North Pole boasts a 42-millimetre satin-finished stainless steel case with a timeless and understated design. Its notable appearance stems chiefly from the domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and the prominent, easy-to-handle crown. The sleek hands and pronounced hour markers contribute to its contemporary and streamlined aesthetic.
