DAVOSA is launching 300 pieces each of the iconic Argonautic diving watch series under the name Argonautic Coral. Proceeds from this project will benefit the non-governmental organisation "Coral Guardian", which is specialised internationally in the preservation and renewal of endangered underwater ecosystems.
DAVOSA's proximity to the international diving scene led to direct contact with the marine conservationists of Coral Guardian. This resulted in the first joint project: the Argonautic Coral. The dials of the professional diving watch are reminiscent of fluorescent corals in bright orange and turquoise blue.
Revenues from this project go directly to the NGO Coral Guardian and support the restoration of the coral reef on Hatamin Island in Indonesia. The buyer of the Argonautic Coral will receive tangible proof in the form of a supporter certificate in the accompanying booklet.
Coral Guardian
Coral Guardian has been sharing the knowledge and experience it has gained from active marine protection in its training programme, Blue Center, for many years. One of the organisation’s principal aims is to train more people to implement their own local projects around the world.
The Technique
Coral fragments are attached to a solid metal structure. The corals that attach to this new substrate grow and the reef comes back to life. Each coral element is collected locally.
The Watches
Davosa introduces the perfect duo - The striking, bright orange and turquoise blue dials are reminiscent of fluorescent corals.
The watch case is made from 316L Stainless Steel, and comes in 43mm diameter. The watches are waterproof up to 300M and are equipped with a screwed manual helium valve. Hour, Minutes and seconds hand, as well as the watch indexes, are filled with BGW09 SuperLuminova, for enhanced readability, even under low light conditions.
