In the PVD process, the watch case or bracelet is placed in a sealed high-pressure chamber in which the paint evaporates and creates a saturated atmosphere. As a result, the base material, stainless steel, is completely penetrated by the colour molecules, which ensures an even and deep distribution of the colour surface. Unlike traditional plating/painting, which is on the surface of the base metal, PVD coating does not discolour thanks to the complete penetration of colour in the metal.
